Leading the research community in a national interdisciplinary effort to generate the information needed by decision-makers in government and in vulnerable sectors and communities to manage the risks of climate change impacts. The key roles of NCCARF include: — developing National Adaptation Research Plans to identify critical gaps in the information available to decision-makers — synthesising existing and emerging national and international research on climate change impacts and adaptation and developing targeted communication products — undertaking a program of integrative research to address national priorities, and — establishing and maintaining adaptation research networks to link together key researchers and assist them in focussing on national research priorities. The work of the NCCARF complements activities and projects currently underway in other institutions across Australia. NCCARF is distinct from these programs in that it focuses entirely on generating the knowledge required for Australia to adapt to the physical impacts of climate change.

The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a 23-member board of directors — is the resource and technical assistance center for a national network of community-based service providers and local, state and federal agencies that provide emergency and supportive housing, food, health services, job training and placement assistance, legal aid and case management support for hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans each year. NCHV also serves as the primary liaison between the nation’s care providers, Congress and the executive branch agencies charged with helping them succeed in their work. NCHV’s advocacy has strengthened and increased funding for virtually every federal homeless veteran assistance program in existence today. NCHV's Technical Assistance and Training Center provides guidance and information about program development, administration, governance and funding to all of the nation’s homeless veteran service providers.

The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom is a national organization committed to creating a political, legal, and social environment in the United States that advances equal rights of consenting adults who practice forms of alternative sexual expression. NCSF is primarily focused on the rights of consenting adults in the SM-leather-fetish, swing, and polyamory communities, who often face discrimination because of their sexual expression.

NCIS has been advancing scholarship through access to research facilities, grants, and professional support since 1989. NCIS welcomes those who are pursuing knowledge in or across any fields and whose credentials demonstrate an active involvement in independent scholarship in any field, as evidenced by advanced degrees or presentations/publications. Further qualification is that the scholar not be employed on a full-time basis by an academic institution or other organization in the field to which their independent scholarly activity pertains. Graduate students intent on pursuing independent scholarship, adjunct faculty, and others tangentially associated with academic institutions who do not receive financial support for their scholarly activities are eligible.

The objective of the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) is to assist in the protection and preservation of life at sea and along the United Kingdom coastline. The National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) is a Registered Charity (No. 1159975), established in 1994 and celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024. There are 60 stations around the coasts of England and Wales, from Fleetwood in the North West to Filey on the East coast. The stations are staffed by over 2,700 qualified volunteers. Volunteers from every walk of life are welcome and all are fully trained including; reading maritime charts, operating VHF radios and interpreting weather and tides. Funds are needed to help continue the charity’s lifesaving work assisting HM Coastguard. This includes the development of new stations and safety cameras, essential maintenance, public safety programmes, equipment and training. The NCI has support from our Royal Patron, HRH Princess Royal. In 2023, NCI participated in over 850 search and rescue incidents, of which 365 were initiated by NCI watchkeepers. Up to September 2024 NCI has been involved in 614 search and rescue incidents, resulting in 293 persons rescued, 111 of whom were rescued at NCI-initiated shouts. The mission of the National College Attainment Network (NCAN) is to build, strengthen, and empower communities and stakeholders to close equity gaps in postsecondary attainment for all students. In today’s economy, a college degree is in greater demand than ever before. Unfortunately, issues such as rising tuition costs and confusion about complex college admission and financial aid processes keep many qualified students from entering college. Many of those who do enroll face additional challenges finding the support and resources they need to graduate. These factors have left today’s young Americans less likely to obtain college degrees than members of their parents’ generation. NCAN works to reverse this growing college opportunity gap. At NCAN, we unite the key organizations dedicated to increasing college access and success. With our members and partners, we develop and support programs and policy solutions that help more students enter and complete college and other postsecondary training.
