Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) officially took over responsibility in April 2013 for planning and managing health care for Leicester city’s population, which is almost 330,000 people . Leicester City CCG looks after a budget of around £469 million per year, to plan and manage healthcare for the local population and work with partners to address poor health in the city. The services that it is responsible for include primary care (the services you receive at your GP practice), hospital treatment, rehabilitation services, urgent and emergency care, community health services, mental health and learning disability services.

NHS Luton CCG is a new organisation, run and led by local clinicians, including GPs, nurses and hospital doctors with a budget of around £230m. The organisation plans, organises and purchases NHS funded health care for the people of Luton. This includes hospital services, community health services (such as district nursing, health visiting and various therapies) and mental health services. Our Mission We have worked closely with the Luton Health and Wellbeing Board to develop three priority outcomes for a healthier Luton, based on local health needs. These are: 1 To give every child and young person in Luton a healthy start in life Strong evidence suggests that what children experience throughout childhood will influence their health later in their lives. Focusing on child health will not only improve the health of children but of their families too. 2 To reduce health inequalities in Luton We will prioritise prevention and the early detection of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and respiratory disease, in areas with the poorest outcomes. 3 To support adults and older people to be healthier and more independent We will support people to live longer and healthier lives, by focusing on helping those with long-term conditions such as diabetes and heart condititions, to live independently and in more control of their health.

We serve 270,000 people: the 252,000 who live in the Medway Council area (which marks our boundary and has done since 2006), plus others just over the border who are registered with Medway GP's (doctors). Our Budget for 2008/09 was £364 million and we are responsible for using that money in the best possible way for the people of Medway. Our job is to lead health services locally so that we, working with our partners in the NHS and outside it, and with local residents, bring about real improvements to people's health and healthcare
