Vanaf 1 april 2013 voert de Omgevingsdienst Achterhoek de wettelijke milieutaken uit voor tien gemeenten en de provincie Gelderland in de regio Achterhoek. Het gaat hierbij om vergunningverlening, toezichthouden en handhaving van de milieuwetgeving. Samen met onze opdrachtgevers werken wij aan een gezonde, schone en veilige leefomgeving voor inwoners en bedrijven in ons werkgebied. In het gebied wonen op een oppervlakte van 1.365 km² ruim 380.000 mensen.

De Omgevingsdienst Zuidoost-Brabant (ODZOB) is een uitvoeringsdienst voor de gemeenten Asten, Bergeijk, Best, Bladel, Cranendonck, Deurne, Eersel, Eindhoven, Geldrop-Mierlo, Gemert-Bakel, Heeze-Leende, Helmond, Laarbeek, Nuenen c.a., Oirschot, Reusel-De Mierden, Someren, Son en Breugel, Valkenswaard, Veldhoven, Waalre en de provincie Noord-Brabant. Onze bijdrage richt zich vooral op het uitvoeren van wettelijke milieu- en bouwtaken. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn: voorkomen van geluid- en stankoverlast, beperken veiligheids- en gezondheidsrisico’s van bedrijven, aanpak van bodemvervuiling en controle zwemwater. Vergunningverlening, toezicht en handhaving (VTH) zijn de instrumenten die wij hiervoor inzetten.
