Openhack is a social company and collaborative community creating solutions to pressing societal & humanitarian challenges through open source development. Our virtual and physical hackathons serve as the foundation of our community where innovations are sparked to life. This is where we bring futurists, policymakers, aid organizations, civil society representatives and industry experts to work together. Since being founded in 2015 as a non-profit project under Engineers Without Borders (EWB), Openhack has grown to become a social company and have organized 11 humanitarian-themed hackathons, each with over 100 registered participants from all over Sweden & the Nordics. We have collaborated with over 30 humanitarian organisations and worked on over 60 challenges. In 2016 we got awarded the title "Digital Inspirer of the year, 2016"​ by IDG Sweden.

Opening Doors is the nonprofit organization that operates Maria House and Teresa Shelter. Homeless women, alone or with children, come to us to help rebuild their lives. We provide goal setting and life skills training that will enable them to take care of themselves and achieve their full potential. Women are dependent when they come inindependent when they leave. Since 2000, Maria House has provided transitional housing, where residents can stay for as long as two years. In 2006, we opened Teresa Shelter. It offers the same transitional housing, as well as short-term emergency shelter services.
