Our Piece of The Pie empowers 14 to 24 year-old urban youth with the key competencies to overcome obstacles and barriers and succeed in education and employment. The young people we help face many challenges. Whether it’s poverty based trauma, gang or justice involvement or victims of system wide issues, OPP focuses on providing the support young people need to achieve their goals! Our relationship-centered model is the key to our success. When a young person comes through our doors, he or she’s immediately connected with a trained, caring and proactive adult staff member who serves as a mentor and coach, building a lasting, personal relationship that spans the entire time that young person is enrolled at OPP. These adults, called Youth Development Specialists, help our youth find the spark that ignites their desire to improve their lives. They help young people navigate past barriers, and toward high school graduation, a college degree or vocational certification, and sustained post-education employment -- the keys to economic independence. Our staff is committed to the strategic and efficient stewardship of the organization’s resources to have the greatest impact on the youth we serve. We collect and use abundant data to measure our results, improve programs, and demonstrate success. As a leader in the youth development field, we identify, test, refine and employ best practices as part of our continuous improvement model. OPP’s unique model offers an effective combination of best practices in academic, employment training, and youth development services and an approach focused on the individual. While every young person receives a combination of academic, employment and youth development services, the exact plan that’s created for each youth addresses his or her specific needs and aspirations.

Our Place Community of Hope provides a ministry of hospitality and presence to people experiencing mental health issues, through a community which seeks to include all people by affirming and empowering them toward personal and communal responsibility. Founded in 1969 as the Shoppers Drop-In, and incorporated in 1991 as Our Place Community of Hope, Our Place began as a response to the changing needs of people with mental health problems. This was a period of de-institutionalization—the closing of psychiatric hospitals in favour of community-based care. Unfortunately, there were and still are insufficient community services available to support the needs of people living with mental illness. Our Place Community of Hope assists people in recovery in building skills for independent living and accessing other services and supports. Through its social recreation programs, Our Place continues to supply a safe, stable environment for its membership to meet, connect and build relationships.

Our Sansar is a UK charity providing education, shelter and welfare to the most disadvantaged children in Nepal for whom little or no help is forthcoming. Our work is focused on Province 2 where there are no other organisations providing the same type of assistance to street children or other children needing emergency support. We were established in 2009 to help the hundreds of children, primarily boys aged between 3 and 16, who live on the street in the regions of Nepal bordering India, after being abandoned due to poverty and abuse. We have now expanded our operations to also assist more children who have experienced neglect, abuse, child labour and girls who have been victims of trafficking, rape, violence and other trauma. Our main current projects include: - Children's Home in Parwanipur - Child Helpline and Outreach Programme in Birgunj - EmpowerHER: Rights, Protection and Hope (Children's Protection Programme in Janakpur run in collaboration with Pipal Tree) - End to Child Labour Programme in Rautahat
