Passionné des sports outdoor, celui-ci fut membre des équipes de France de kayak descente (champion du monde par équipe), a participé à de nombreuses épreuves outdoor qu’il pratique encore régulièrement : ski-alpinisme, VTT, kayak, Stand up paddle, trail )... Mais il est aussi passionné de lettres et par la presse (il fut par exemple membre du jury du Livre Inter en 2009). Aujourd’hui Outdoor éditions édite plusieurs magazines spécialisés dans le sport ainsi que de nombreux livres et films dans le domaine de l’outdoor. De grands noms du sport-nature sont aujourd’hui associés à ses publications, notamment dans le domaine des livres et des films.
