The Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences (TH OWL) offers excellent educational, research and career opportunities at the locations in Detmold, Lemgo and Höxter as well as at the study locations in Herford and Minden. With around 5,500 students and 55 degree programs in ten subject areas, including design, food, computer science, technology and business, the TH OWL focuses on practical training, innovative research and intensive knowledge transfer. The university is characterized by small teaching and research groups, state-of-the-art laboratories and a direct line to teachers. Through close cooperation with regional “hidden champions” and internationally renowned companies as well as a mandatory internship semester, students are well prepared for the world of work. Particularly noteworthy is the bilingual Bachelor's degree program in General Engineering, which combines English-language MINT modules with a flexible specialization. The six institutes conduct interdisciplinary and active research in four strategic research fields: “Production and Automation”, “Health and Life”, “Space and Culture” and “Environment and Resources”.
