ПАО "Центрэнерго" создана в 1995 году. В состав компании входят три тепловых электростанции - Углегорская, Змиевская и Трипольская. Суммарная проектная мощность станций составляет 7660 мВт, что равняется около 14% от общей мощности электростанций Украины. По этому показателю компания занимает второе место среди тепловых энергогенерирующих компаний Украины. На электростанциях компании установлены 23 энергоблока мощностью от 175 до 800 МВт, из которых 18 блоков - угольные, а 5 предназначены для использования газомазутного топлива.
