The Pala Band of Mission Indians is located in northern San Diego County. The majority of the enrolled members live on a 12,000-acre reservation established for Cupeno and Luiseno Indians. Pala Skate Park was designed by award winning skate park designer, Wally Hollyday, to be used by skateboarders and BMX riders. Pala aims to make an impact on the community through education, cultural and environmental programs. The educational programs are structured to help community members strategize and set goals in order to achieve their personal educational objectives. The Cupa Cultural Centers is dedicated to protecting traditions and preserving history. The annual Cupa Days celebration takes place on the first weekend of May. The Pala Tribe’s Environmental Department strives to protect the air, water, land, and culture of the Pala Reservation.
