The Port Phillip and Westernport CMA is one of ten regional Catchment Management Authorities operating across Victoria. It was established in 2002 as the peak natural resource management body in the Port Phillip and Western Port region to develop and oversee the implementation of the Regional Catchment Strategy. The Port Phillip and Western Port region is Victoria’s most diverse and complex by virtue of its location, geography and demography. It encompasses the densely populated urban Melbourne, sprawling outer city suburbs, growth centres on the urban fringe, rich rural land, reserves and waterways and is home to three Ramsar-listed wetlands. The Port Phillip & Westernport CMA provides leadership to a range of stakeholder groups and works to deliver integrated catchment management and sustainability for the region’s catchment assets by building cooperation, coordination and partnerships amongst these groups. Stakeholders include government, businesses, agricultural industries, farmers, landholders, Landcare groups and networks, community organisations and individuals interested in improving the environment. Port Said University starred with the decision of the president of the Republic on 24/2/2010 to transfer Suez Canal branch in Port Said to an independent university. The history of the university extends before the decision of its establishment; as the existence of its first faculties was the faculty of engineering in 1975 under the supervision of Helwan University, then under the supervision of Suez Canal University when it was established in 1976. After that, more faculties were established in Port Said governorate increasing to four faculties prompting the decision of establishing Port Said University as a branch of the Suez Canal University in 1998. The wise decision of the Republic President, for establishing Port Said University in 2010, was the result of the continuous increase of the faculties outreaching nine Educational institutions.
