Our Mission Located in Portland, Maine, we are the leading professional theater in Northern New England. PORTLAND STAGE entertains, educates and engages its audiences by producing a wide range of artistic works and programs that explore basic human issues and concerns relevant to the communities served by the theater. Our guiding principle is to promote creativity and dialogue among artists, staff, board and audience.

Portland State University is Oregon's urban research university located in the heart of downtown. It is ranked as one of the nation's "Top 10 Up-and-Coming"​ universities by U.S. News & World Report. PSU offers more than 60 undergraduate and 40 graduate programs in fine and performing arts, liberal arts and sciences, business administration, education, urban and public affairs, social work, engineering and computer science. PSU offers more than 226 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The 50-acre downtown campus—with the motto "Let Knowledge Serve the City"—places students in a vibrant center of culture, business and technology. This allows students to participate in internships and community-based projects in these fields as well as education, social services, and government. Portland State's award-winning University Studies curriculum provides small class sizes and peer mentoring for all first-year students and culminates in Senior Capstones, which take students out of the classroom and into the field, where they utilize their knowledge and skills to develop community projects. The University has taken aggressive steps to enhance the student experience and campus life, with new student housing and a comprehensive recreation complex and remodeled science and performing arts facilities. Portland State also has bolstered academic and career advising and orientation programs and created new programs to support students. Sustainability—initiatives that balance environmental, economic and social concerns—is incorporated throughout the curriculum and across the campus.

The Portland (Maine) Symphony Orchestra has been inspiring audiences since it made its debut almost a century ago. And while there’s little chance that today’s patrons will find a concert canceled because the hall’s custodian went fishing (as was the case in 1924) the PSO still resonates with a refrain that echoes far beyond the borders of our city and stage. That sound is grounded in our commitment to the world-class performance of exceptional musical experiences we invite you to share. The orchestra is comprised of 82 professional musicians, 40% of them residing in Maine and the rest coming from the greater Boston area, New Hampshire and Vermont. The primary performance venue is Merrill Auditorium, 20 Myrtle St., Portland, Maine. Merrill Auditorium is a 1,908 seat performing arts facility located in the Arts District of downtown Portland, Maine. The Auditorium was originally built in 1912 to replace two former halls both destroyed by fire. Cyrus Curtis, a publishing tycoon, donated the Kotzschmar Memorial Organ, a celebrated instrument with 5,000 pipes of varying sizes, that was incorporated into the stage. Founded in 1991, Portland Utilities Construction Company, LLC has been a leader in the trenchless pipe replacement/rehabilitation industry for over 20 years spanning 16 different states and the District of Columbia. PUCC has been dedicated to serving our engineering, municipal, and industrial clients in a personal and professional manner. That deducation has been rewarded with positive growth, a positive reputation, and pride in our company. PUCC has been involved in water, sewer, and storm pipe replacment and rehabilitation projects ranging in size from $8,000,000 to $20,000. We have worked in some of the largest cities in the country like Houston, Atlanta, Knoxville, Nashville, & Jacksonville, and we have worked in some of the smallest towns like our very own Portland, TN. PUCC is dedicated to the pipe rehabilitation and rehabilitation market. We currenly repair, replace, and rehabilitate pipe by means of Pipe Bursting, UV CIPP, Open Cut, and CIPP Spot Repairs. We currently have satalite offices in Houston, Texas and Knoxville, Tennessee.
