Pancreatic cancer has one of the highest mortality rates of all cancers -- the 3rd highest in the U.S. -- yet it receives the least funding of all the top ten cancers. We envision a world without pancreatic cancer. To that end, Project Purple participates in a variety of events and campaigns to raise funds for our two main programs: research into early detection methods and a cure, and providing financial aid to pancreatic cancer patients currently struggling with the burden or medical and living expenses. "My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2008. After a year of treatments we thought he had cleared the woods, but it reared its ugly head again, and on September 5th 2011, my dad died. I started Project Purple in an effort to help raise awareness for this horrible disease in the hope that our contribution will help researchers find a cure." - Dino Verrelli, Founder & CEO of Project Purple

Operating under MWC, Project Ramadan's (PR) mission is simple: we fundraise, assemble, and distribute baskets containing staple food items. Who We Are Run entirely by volunteers, PR is an initiative dedicated to providing support to local families in need through fundraising and assembling food baskets. Our food baskets containing staple food items help the local community create healthy, balanced meals during the blessed month of Ramadan. Through key partnerships with organizations such as food banks, women’s shelters and indigenous communities, we distribute baskets to families regardless of their race, religion or nationality. Enthusiastic volunteers come from across the Greater Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa areas to band together and make this initiative possible. With the support of our great sponsors, including Islamic Relief Canada, Project Ramadan has worked to help many Food Banks in the MWC network, and partner with many beneficiaries across Ontario. Our Impact Since 2009, we have proudly raised over two million dollars and distributed over 31,600 food baskets in joint support with the Muslim Welfare Canada food bank network. In our 2020 campaign alone: - We built, and distributed over 5,000 baskets to 5,000 families - Raised $216,187 In 2019, we worked with 500+ community volunteers to make the campaign a great success! Project Ramadan is a 100% volunteer-run. We keep overhead costs low to take your donations even further. mental health care
For nearly four decades, Project Return has been solely dedicated to the people who are returning to the Nashville community after incarceration, facilitating job search, job placement, and job retention, as well as providing wraparound intensive case management and a broad array of assistance and support. Our effectiveness is amplified by entrepreneurship: Project Return operates two revenue-generating social enterprises. Through our first social enterprise, PRO Employment (PROe), we create jobs and hire people immediately. Since its inception in 2013, PROe has employed 517 people and has generated more than $1.8M in revenue. Our second social enterprise, PRO Housing, creates affordable rental homes for people who have successfully started new lives, through the acquisition, rehab, and preservation of affordable housing stock in Nashville. The funds utilized by Project Return represent money not spent on incarceration. The annual cost of imprisonment in Tennessee is approximately, $27,000 per person. Comparing Project Return's lower recidivism to the state's higher rate, and considering just the cost of imprisonment, the impact of Project Return in 2017 is approximately $3.3M in taxpayer dollars saved. Joblessness only magnifies the negative cycle of formerly incarcerated individuals going back to prison. By understanding the collateral consequences of a criminal conviction and choosing instead to support an individual's successful return to society through stable, full-time employment, Project Return serves as an important part of the solution to end mass incarceration.
