Participation House, Markham is a leader in enhancing the quality of life of individuals with disabilities through a continuum of services designed to reflect individualized approaches, community involvement and a respect for human dignity. At seven different sites in York Region, we serve 120 men and women ranging in age from 20 to 86. Every one of our clients deserves the very best of life, and we help them live it.

Participatory Development Associates (PDA) is a social development organisation which seeks among other objectives, to promote community-driven development, empower youth and advocate for improved child protection systems. With offices in both Accra and Kumasi, PDA works with government, non-government and private organisations, as well as multilateral and bilateral organisations in areas such as decentralisation, policy analysis and advocacy, poverty and social assessments, reproductive health, gender and development, monitoring and evaluation among others. Our vision is: of a world where states, communities and organisations provide an enabling environment in which all people, regardless of sex, race, ethnicity, creed, age or disability, can realise their full potential and contribute their best to the common good. Our mission is: to work with government, communities and organisations to facilitate the participation of all people towards taking greater control over their own lives and determine their own destiny. What we do Our approach is to work with people, in groups and as individuals, to help them build their awareness of their situation, see it in a wider context, explore options, make decisions and then move towards a chosen future. PDA uses a broad range of methodologies, most of which enable a high degree of participation and interactive, experiential learning. Our practice is especially inspired by Freirian approaches and also places a premium on creativity and innovation. We employ a number of well-known development approaches including Appreciative Inquiry, Open Space Technology, World Café, Most Significant Change and Participatory Rapid Appraisal. We are committed as an organisation to realising a proud and prosperous future for Africa, building on its own history and indigenous systems. We seek to work with others to find a path that celebrates our strengths, and critically engages with our weaknesses.

Particular Group Architects are a design focused Urban Planning, Architecture and Interior Design Studio located in Melbourne, Australia lead by our Senior Directors, Joe Genovesi & Nick Nigro who have a reputation for innovative design and delivery solutions. Our design team consists of experienced veterans of the industry, combined with youth and innovation - resulting in innovative design, with the experience to deliver our designs We offer a passion of exploring the design detail, along with an understanding of material properties as an ongoing narrative throughout our work. Our practice has over 50 years of collective experience and our design studio offers a fresh take on the value of design in the delivery of the built assets in our cities in a sustainable, contemporary, responsive, authentic and emotional approach. Our approach to design is not a prescriptive one. We enjoy getting to know our valued clients, and working closely with them to arrive at the right outcome together. We aspire to create something unexpected and refreshingly innovative for the future residences, occupants and the public realm interfaces of our built assets. Our design responses are shaped with an understanding and empathy towards each client and every brief in the creation of branded architectural and interior environments. Regardless of scale or type, our design projects have in common we enact a considered approach to design resulting in buildings that use materials wisely, correctly oriented, proportioned and appropriate. The journey from design to delivery can be incredibly rewarding for our clients who have made the bold choice to embark on a development project, and more importantly, appreciate the value and experience that an Architect adds.
