From Bucks County to Erie County, the PA State Association of Boroughs (PSAB) has been serving boroughs across the Commonwealth for more than 100 years. PSAB represents the 957 boroughs that are home to more than 2.6 million residents. PSAB is a non-profit and non-partisan association, operated by the boroughs of the Commonwealth, to promote effective local government practices. Pennsylvania’s boroughs – urban to rural - band together to create effective change in our communities. Today, boroughs represent 37.5 percent of all municipal governments in the Commonwealth. An average of 15 boroughs exists per county and nearly 25 percent of the state’s population resides in these communities. For perspective, more people live in Pennsylvania boroughs than live in the states of Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming, combined. PSAB’s primary objectives are to provide legislative/regulatory representation at both the state and federal levels; to promote constructive and cooperative relationships among boroughs and between PSAB and other levels of government; to deliver training and technical assistance to borough officials; and to provide cost-effective programs and services.

The mission of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) is to preserve and strengthen township government and to secure greater visibility and involvement for townships in the state and federal political arenas. PSATS serves townships of the second class, totaling 1,454 member townships in the commonwealth, representing some 10,000 elected township officials. The Association represents its members before the state and federal legislative bodies strictly on a nonpartisan basis. Located in Enola, PSATS operates under the direction of a 12-member executive board elected by member townships. The PSATS staff has expertise in township laws and regulations, governmental affairs, environmental management, communications, and training. Nine standing committees composed of township officials oversee specific aspects of Association operations. In addition, PSATS sponsors a wide range of training opportunities to provide township officials and employees with the information and skills they need to meet the ever-increasing challenges of township office.

PSEA represents the labor, policy, and professional interests of 178,000 public school teachers and education support professionals, staff in state higher education institutions, nurses in health care facilities, retired educators, and college students preparing to become teachers. PSEA bargains compensation and benefits for members, protects their rights, and advocates for their professions. We are a strong voice for public education and working families in Pennsylvania. PSEA members share a common purpose, vision, values and goals. We advocate for public education, children, and our members’ professions, whether they are teachers, maintenance employees, nurses, retirees, custodians, secretaries, classroom aides, school psychologists or librarians. Members are PSEA. Members form a strong community of dedicated, caring professionals who support each other at the bargaining table, in the work place and in our communities. Members decide PSEA policy and direction.

Pennsylvania State Fire Academy provides training to fire, rescue, hazardous materials and other emergency services training throughout the Commonwealth. The fire academy is located in Lewistown, PA. Programs are offered at the facility (resident) and at numerous locations across the commonwealth (local level).

The Pennsylvania Office of the State Treasurer serves as the custodian of more than $100 billion in Commonwealth funds, and is responsible for the receipt and deposit of state monies, investment management and oversight of all withdrawals and deposits from state agencies. ABOUT TREASURER STACY GARRITY As the 78th Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, businesswoman and retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel Stacy Garrity is focused on transparency, cutting waste and fees, returning $3.5 billion in unclaimed property to its rightful owners, and making education affordable for Pennsylvanians. Stacy understands the challenges that Pennsylvania families face, and she brings the same common sense that people use to manage their own finances to the Treasurer’s office. As the treasurer of Pennsylvania, Stacy oversees an office of approximately 340 employees and is tasked with protecting $110 billion in state assets. Among her many duties, she safeguards the financial health of the state, manages Pennsylvania’s 529 College and Career Savings Program and the PA ABLE Savings Program for disability-related expenses, and administers the unclaimed property program. Stacy was elected on November 3, 2020, and was sworn into office on January 19, 2021.
