P. van der Kooij Groep is een veelzijdig bedrijf met een groot aantal bedrijfsactiviteiten welke zijn gebundeld in een drietal divisies, te weten Grind, Afvalverwerking en Diervoeder. In de divisie Grind wordt met speciale vrachtwagens grind op daken aangebracht of verwijderd. Met deze binnen het bedrijf ontwikkelde trucks kan grind tot circa 40 meter hoogte geblazen worden op daken. Tevens kan bij dakrenovatie of onderhoud grind opgezogen worden. Dit veelal ernstig vervuilde dakgrind wordt in Schiedam in een Grindwasinstallatie gereinigd en gesorteerd, waarna het weer geschikt is voor hergebruik als recycle dakgrind. Met de zuig-blaaswagens kunnen eveneens andere droge stoffen als zand en schelpen worden verwerkt. De divisie Afvalverwerking start met het op efficiënte wijze inzamelen van afvalstoffen, met behulp van een aantal grotere en kleinere containerwagens. Bouw en sloopafval, bedrijfsafval en afvalhout worden gesorteerd en zoveel mogelijk geschikt gemaakt voor hergebruik en recycling. Geschikt afvalhout wordt verwerkt tot houtspaanders die als grondstof dienen voor de productie van spaanplaat of worden benut als bio- brandstof voor energiecentrales. De Diervoeder divisie is van oorsprong gespecialiseerd in de afname, op- en overslag en vermarkting van vochtrijke bijproducten uit de fermentatie-industrie. Tevens verhuurt van der Kooij opslagtanks vanaf 600 m³ voor opslag van vloeibare diervoeders en worden tanktransporten uitgevoerd van diverse producten in binnen en buitenland. De nieuwste diervoederactiviteit betreft de levering van een groeiend assortiment van specialiteiten en voederadditieven rechtstreeks aan de veehouderij.
