When a child is seriously ill, it can disrupt every aspect of family life – from school and work, to everyday moments like mealtimes, bath times, playtimes and quality time. This can have a devastating effect on the whole family. Ronald McDonald House Charities® helps family life carry on while a child is undergoing treatment. For nearly 40 years we’ve helped Australian families through some of their most difficult times. Our Programs include: Ronald McDonald House - Our Houses offer families a place to stay close to the hospital. They are especially helpful for families who have to travel far to receive treatment for their child. All accommodation is equipped with everything families need to feel supported during their stay. Ronald McDonald Family Rooms - Our Family Rooms are located close to children’s wards. They give families a chance to recharge after many stressful hours at their child’s side. Each room is equipped with areas to sleep, eat, freshen up, play and relax. Ronald McDonald Learning Program - Our tailored one-to-one tuition help kids keep up with schoolwork so that they feel confident when they get back to school. Ronald McDonald Family Retreats - Our Family Retreats give families a chance to forget the stresses of hospital life. They’re open to families with a seriously ill child, or those grieving the loss of a child, who might not have the time or finances to take a much-needed break. Ronald McDonald Care Mobile - Our Care Mobile brings care to children in remote and rural NSW, in partnership with Royal Far West. It ensures distance isn’t a barrier to receiving early intervention services for children in these areas.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® Manitoba is a non-profit organization that keeps families together. We are part of a global network and offer comfortable, affordable accomodations for families with sick children. We operate two core programs: Ronald McDonald House®, and the Ronald McDonald Family Room®. Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for out-of-town families who have a sick child in a Winnipeg hospital. Conveniently located just two blocks from Winnipeg's HSC Children's Hospital, parents can rest assured they are never more than a few minutes away from their child. The Ronald McDonald Family Room is a home within the hospital for all families (local and rural) who have patients in HSC Children's Hospital. Located within the walls of the hospital, this cozy space offers a space where parents can rest and take a break from the hospital environment. Ronald McDonald House Charities Manitoba was founded by the Pediatric Oncology Family Centre of Manitoba Inc. in May 1984. We serve over 550 families a year at the House, and over 400 guests each week at the Family Room.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern NSW, a Chapter of RMHC Australia, operates and manages programs across Northern NSW that supports sick or injured children and their families. Our Houses at Newcastle and Tamworth provide a ‘Home away from Home’ to families of sick or injured children. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere for families and their children, where the familiar routines of home life can continue as much as possible. The House offers a home like environment full of compassion and understanding in a stressful and often difficult time. From a shoulder to cry on to a kiss goodnight, when you're undergoing treatment having a family around can make all the difference. Ronald McDonald House Newcastle opened its doors in 1991, and since then has grown to accommodate well over 800 families per year. The House located at Tamworth Hospital provides care to over 200 families each year. The Ronald McDonald Family Room in the John Hunter Children's Hospital is a “home within a hospital” and is a place you can go when you can’t go home. This is a place for families and carers with child patients in the hospital to take a break and still be near their children. Over 600 local families use the Family Room every month. To support the families of the Central Coast we also have a Family Room located within the Gosford Hospital. And families with a seriously ill child from throughout Australia are welcome to utilise the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat on the water at beautiful Forster. It is a haven for families to take a break away from reconnect having been through tough times with their sick child. All of these facilities exist due to the generosity of our donors and the community. As a charity, we rely on this support to be able to provide families with the support they require. Families from throughout Alabama, across the United States and from around the world come to Birmingham's hospitals seeking life-saving treatment for their critically ill children. Often times, they come to Birmingham exhausted, scared and financially drained as they struggle to pay for overwhelming medical bills. Our House currently cares for 73 guest families every night, providing them with a "home-away-from-home"​ while their children receive medical treatment. In addition to providing a comfortable bedroom, we surround our families with love and support from our volunteers, staff and other guest families who share the same hopes and fears. We also provide home-cooked meals, activities, indoor and outdoor play areas, laundry facilities, computers and WiFi, and much more so that our guest families can concentrate on what is most important: family. We also provide a comfortable, relaxing place to rest and re-group while only steps away from a sick child’s bedside at our Ronald McDonald Family Room at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and the Ronald McDonald Family Room at UAB Women & Infants Center.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central PA provides comfort and care to children and their families through Ronald McDonald House®, its cornerstone program, and by making grants to local not-for-profit organizations that help children in need. We also fund the Ronald McDonald Family Room®, Hospitality Cart and family lounges at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.

We keep families with sick children together and near the care and resources they need. Since 1983, RMHC Charleston has been a “Home-away-from-home” where families stay while their children undergo extensive medical treatment. Here, parents and children lead a life as normal as possible during traumatic times without the financial burden of costly hotel, meal, and travel expenses. Our home offers these families comfortable beds, hot meals, a caring staff, and a four-legged friend - Gardy, all just steps from the hospital. We believe that when a child is in time of greatest need, families and communities can come together to create solutions, ultimately changing a child’s life forever.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Memphis offers children with pediatric cancer and other catastrophic illnesses undergoing treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and their families a nurturing, family-centered residential community. The House fosters an environment of hope through support services and child-centered activities that encourage children to be children and keep families together near the care they need, always free of charge. Near the care they need with the family they love. RMHC-Memphis has served 10,718 families from all 50 states and 51 countries since opening in 1991. Our doors are open to every patient of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, regardless of religion, ethnicity, race, gender, national origin, and age.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Northeast Ohio, Inc. enhances the healthcare experience for families and children through comfort, care and supportive services. Our guest Houses in Cleveland and Akron provide families a welcoming place to stay, while Family Rooms offer respite and support just steps from children’s hospital rooms. The STAR Center is a fun learning environment for children while siblings’ receive outpatient care, and our Care Mobile provides dental services to children in under served areas of Northeast Ohio. Our online program, Redtreehouse.org, provides resource information to families nationally, with an emphasis on Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Its something we see every day children healing because theyre surrounded by their families. And while Ronald McDonald House Charities® Oklahoma City may not be able to make the medicine taste better or erase the pain of a much-needed treatment, we can help lessen the burden for Oklahoma families who stay for thousands of nights with us each and every year. Since we opened our doors in 1984, we have never closed them. We have been helping children with illnesses and injuries cope better by keeping their families together at our two Ronald McDonald Houses and our Ronald McDonald Family Room. By providing them with a home away from home and a place where they can be together, we help our families find strength in numbers.
