We are an Edinburgh based studio of architects and designers, working both locally and internationally with both private and public sector clients. We have extensive experience in the design of Universities and Schools, Research Institutes and Sporting Centres of Excellence, Art Galleries and Workplaces, Hospitals and Homes. Our work ranges in scale from a civic masterplan to a small bothy in the Scottish Borders. We bring our collective expertise and enthusiasm to bear on a diverse range of projects regardless of scale and typology. Our approach is sensitive to location and culture, often combining the latest advances in building technology with techniques drawn from local traditions. We aim to garner the skills, enthusiasm and knowledge of our clients, design teams, and communities in the creation of inspirational environments. We have in-house Passivhaus Designers who are delivering significant pathfinder projects achieving Low Carbon and Net Zero outcomes. By working constructively together from the start of a project, our architects and the wider project team create appropriate, integrated, and sustainable design solutions. From appointment to completion, the teams are supported by numerous in-house disciplines, including Contract Administration, Building Information Modelling, Interior Design, Graphics and Project Management. We instigate regular and rigorous Design, Construction and Sustainability review panels throughout the design process. To ensure consistency and personal service, the core team sees a project through from beginning to end. Led by the directors and an experienced senior team, the work of our dedicated, vibrant, and creative studio has been recognised with over a 100 major design awards.

Bernard REICHEN et Philippe ROBERT ont créé lagence « REICHEN ET ROBERT » en 1973. Ils se sont fait connaître par la reconversion exemplaire des filatures du Nord de la France puis par la réhabilitation de vastes nefs du XIX° siècle : la grande halle de la Villette, le Pavillon de lArsenal ou la Halle Tony Garnier à Lyon et enfin par la reconversion du site de lusine Meunier à Noisiel pour accueillir le siège social du groupe Nestlé France. De cette pratique originale et attentive de la reconversion, nécessairement complexe au travers de la multiplicité des critères manipulés au cours dun projet, ils ont su en tirer des approches méthodologiques originales quils appliquent aujourdhui dans leurs projets neufs. La gestion multifactorielle des projets est aussi employée dans les prospections urbaines et territoriales dont ils sont devenus de grands spécialistes reconnus au travers du Grand Prix de lUrbanisme décerné à Bernard REICHEN en 2005. Leurs domaines dintervention sont aujourdhui très variés, de lhospitalier aux bâtiments tertiaires, du commerce de centre ville aux équipements publics, des grands Projets de Ville aux études prospectives. Leurs zones dintervention sont aussi très diverses : France métropolitaine, Belgique, Allemagne, Grèce, Maroc, Dubaï, Martinique, Réunion ou Australie. Depuis 2004, lagence sest restructurée pour créer « REICHEN ET ROBERT & ASSOCIES » qui regroupe les deux fondateurs et cinq nouveaux associés. Lagence est forte dune équipe de soixante-dix collaborateurs dont 55 architectes diplômés.
