The State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO) is the national association of the chief executives of statewide governing, policy, and coordinating boards of postsecondary education. Founded in 1954, SHEEO serves its members as an advocate for state policy leadership, a liaison between states and the federal government, and a vehicle for learning from and collaborating with peers. SHEEO also serves as a manager of multistate teams and as a source of information and analysis on educational and public policy issues. Sheep Not Goats is a non-profit corporation with tax-exempt status under section 501(c) (3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue code. Our focus is on providing assistance to the poor in Nicaragua via employment on a 2.25-acre farm in the town of Malpaisillo and, since 2018 with the Sheep Dreamzzz project, over 25 women have been trained to make adorable baby blankets that we sell in the US. The women receive nearly 100% of the profit from each blanket they make, and this has changed their lives as all are breadwinners for their families in an economic and political system that offers little in the way of income opportunity, self-improvement, or quality healthcare.
