La Società degli impiegati del commercio Svizzera funge da centro di competenza per la formazione e la professione nel settore economico-aziendale e nel commercio al dettaglio. Con 150 anni di storia associativa, è la più antica associazione di lavoratori ancora attiva in Svizzera. Offre ai suoi membri e clienti consulenza e infor-mazioni su questioni riguardanti la loro carriera. Rappresenta inoltre i lavoratori impiegati nei settori delle banche e delle assicurazioni, del commercio al dettaglio, del commercio, dell’industria, della costruzione in legno, del trasporto aereo e del personale a prestito in circa 40 contratti collettivi di lavoro e si impegna per rafforzarne le opportunità sul merca-to del lavoro. Nelle sue scuole – scuole per la formazione di base e continua in ambito commerciale, Istituto superiore di economia di Zurigo (HWZ) e Schweizerisches Institut für Betriebsökonomie (SIB) – offre corsi di formazione e perfezionamento professionale orientati alla pratica. In quanto organo responsabile o corresponsabile di diversi esami che portano a un attestato o a un diploma federale, svolge un ruolo attivo nello sviluppo del sistema di formazione svizzero.
