Our Vision An Australia where all young people have a pathway to a meaningful and rewarding career. Our Mission To bridge the gap between unemployment and a meaningful career for disadvantaged young Australians. About Us When a young person finishes school in Australia, they’re work-ready, right? Sadly, that’s increasingly not the case. Employers demand a diverse range and depth of skills – technical and non-technical – which regular school education won’t necessarily cover. This is where the Skilling Australia Foundation comes to the fore with our passion for skills-based education. We work in innovative ways to support young Australians facing disadvantage to forge their own career pathways through training and meaningful employment. By teaming up with schools, industry, business, governments and the vocational educational and training sector, the Skilling Australia Foundation has helped more than 1,300 young people build the skills towards a meaningful career, setting them up for a career of their choice. How we do it We take a multi-dimensional approach by offering: Free job-readiness programs Tuition-fee relief grants Merit based scholarships for high-achieving apprentices and trainees Collaboration with schools and industry with to equip students with the skills required for the workforce of the 21st century The Foundation was set up in 2012 and commenced activities in 2013. Since then our work continues to gain national and international recognition. We’re a not-for-profit charity and have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR1) status, too. As an advisory firm we’ve been working at the heart of the digital transformation for decades. Disruptive business models have been familiar to us from our beginning. We're digital natives because that's our daily bread and butter. We answer the typical questions about what’s next for our clients in Asia, Europe and the US, every day since our foundation in 1995 (a date we share with amazon and eBay). What’s Next? How can we accelerate growth? What opportunities does the digital transformation offer our business? What are the threats? Which technologies should we consider and rely on? Is this business an attractive investment for us? How can we best optimize our investment portfolio in the digital space? What’s our best exit strategy? We’ve handled more than 4,000 What’s Next projects for our corporate clients, mainly from the sectors of telecommunications, information technology, media, e-business and adjacent service providers (“TIMES”): more than 300 of them, including companies such as AOL, Axel Springer, Bertelsmann, Cisco, Dolby, Endemol, Founder, Google, Haier, ProSiebenSat.1, SAP, Telefonica, Uzai, Vodafone, Xing, Yelp and Zeit, to name several. For more than 120 private equity players and financial institutions, we’ve executed more than 400 due diligences, managed about 180 M&A deals and supported 16 IPOs with a total transaction volume surpassing USD 6 billion. Our clientele includes 3i, Advent International, EQT, Franklin Templeton, General Atlantic, hg Capital, Iris Capital, Softbank and Warburg Pincus. Our international set-up in Asia, Europe and the US matches the challenges of our work. All Skillnet partners are entrepreneurs. We’ve all founded companies. We all invest actively. We all share the mindset of entrepreneurs and reflect it in our fields of expertise. We’re dedicated to digital transformation and delivering superior results to the world’s most sophisticated clients.
