At Smilezone Foundation, we believe that every child deserves to smile! Our mission is to make tough days a little brighter for kids receiving treatment in hospitals and health care facilities. We do this by creating fun and engaging “Smilezones” that harness the uplifting power of a smile for the kids and their families. Over a single weekend, our team transforms an existing waiting room, treatment room or patient care room into a Smilezone! A Smilezone provides a bright, comforting, and engaging space for children and their families while spending time in a hospital or medical facility. SMILfonden er en velgørende forening, der støtter børn med alvorlige og kroniske sygdomme på tværs af diagnoser. Vi ønsker at give børnene og deres familier et bedre liv ved at skabe stærke, værdifulde fællesskaber og øge deres livskvalitet. Det gør vi ved at give dem en vigtig pause fra sygdom gennem sociale aktiviteter både på og uden for hospitalerne, fx sociale aktiviteter på hospitalerne, sommercamps, netværksture, rådgivning og meget mere. I 2020 kunne vi blandt andet slå dørene op til det kreative værksted, SMILET, på Rigshospitalet og i 2022 har vi åbnet endnu et på Aarhus Universitetshospital. De bemandede kreative værksteder er for alle børn og unge under 18 år, der har en tilknytning til hospitalerne. Både indlagte og ambulante børn samt søskende og børn til indlagte forældre er velkomne i SMILET. SMILfondens arbejde finansieres af bidrag fra virksomheder, fonde, offentlige puljer og private. Visitation af nye børn til SMILfondens aktiviteter uden for hospitalerne foregår i tæt samarbejde med personale og ledelse på de danske børneafdelinger. Vi er dybt afhængige af, at læger, sygeplejersker og pædagoger hjælper os med at visitere de børn, som lider af alvorlige og kroniske sygdomme og har allermest brug for en pause fra sygdom. SMILfonden er stiftet i 2014 af Sisse Fisker.

In Cambodia, Smiling Gecko Cambodia is newly founded and operating various projects.
