A SOBRAMAM, Sociedade Brasileira de Marinha Mercante, tem por objetivos: a) congregar os profissionais de Marinha Mercante e demais profissionais em atividades afins, no Brasil e no Exterior, interessados pela atividade profissional no segmento aquaviário e afins; b) fomentar a formação técnica e científica dos seus membros; c) zelar pelo nível ético, eficiência técnica e sentido social do exercício profissional de marinha mercante; d) promover o estudo e a investigação sobre as matérias no segmento aquaviário e afins; e) estimular o estudo a pesquisa científica e tecnológica no campo que visem o desenvolvimento, difusão e aplicação da Qualidade de Vida, Prevenção de Acidentes e Meio Ambiente; f) promover encontros, cursos, eventos e outras atividades que contribuam para a difusão e o intercâmbio de conhecimento; g) realizar e apoiar à publicação de livros, boletins, livros de anais e periódicos, em consonância com o objeto social e assuntos correlatos; h) estimular a divulgação e o conhecimento público dos temas de interesse relevante para o objeto social; i) representar os interesses de seus membros junto a entidades públicas e privadas, nacionais, estrangeiras e internacionais; j) manter intercâmbio científico e associativo com entidades congêneres nacionais, estrangeiras e internacionais; k) promover a divulgação, junto ao público, nos aspectos de atenção e promoção da segurança e saúde da navegação no segmento aquaviário e afins; l) colaborar técnica e cientificamente com o Poder Público, Autoridade Marítima e entidades vinculadas à atividade aquaviária e afins.

SOBRAMFA – Medical Education and Humanism, (former Brazilian Society for Family Medicine) is an academic society founded by a group of physicians in 1992 in São Paulo, Brazil, with the aim of promoting medical education and humanism in medicine, and helping to establish the proper basis and scientific methodology for family practice. SOBRAMFA, was the first initiative to promote academic Family Medicine in Brazil. Since the beginning SOBRAMFA’s main role is among medical students coming from diverse Brazilian medical schools, because of their interest in Humanistic Medicine, Patient Centered approach, ethics and human values in medicine.
