Somerset West Community Health Centre (SWCHC) is a interprofessional agency offering a diverse spectrum of programming, in order to promote optimal health and social well-being among community members. Priority is given to individuals with unique needs, including single parent families, those who are financially insecure, new Canadians, and persons coping with various disabilities. SWCHC welcomes and supports individuals of all gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, and ethnicities. SWCHC serves a large multicultural area in Ottawa’s centre west, including Dalhousie, Hintonburg, Mechanicsville, and West Wellington, with a population of approximately 40,000 persons. Much of the community’s population is made up of new immigrants to Canada, who face many struggles which for many include a lack of English language skills.

The Somerston Estate, encompassing 1,615 total acres with 215 acres of vineyards, is located in the eastern Napa Valley, high in the Vaca Mountains. Farming the estate and its 14 unique vineyard blocks is the passion of our founders Allan Chapman and winemaker Craig Becker. With each vintage, the best sites from the estate are selected to produce limited production vineyard designate wines. Our focus is to produce a variety of Bordeaux style wines that reflect the unique nature of each vineyard site. Our propertys well-drained soils and microclimates convey the distinctive sense of place that is found in each of our Somerston Estate wines. We believe you can have all the elements of success -- the land, the wine and the vision -- but without the right team of people, success will remain out of reach.
