As one of the oldest community college's in the country, South Suburban College (SSC) was founded in 1927 as an institution of higher education for all who wished to learn, regardless of age, wealth or previous academic experience. South Suburban Family Shelter is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, non-sectarian social service agency whose mission is to provide comprehensive, coordinated services to families in which domestic violence exists without imposing any one solution.

South Suburban Parks and Recreation maintains nearly 3,800 acres of developed and open space land, including 119 multi-purpose athletic fields, more than 100 parks, nearly 100 miles of trails, 60 playgrounds, 56 tennis courts, and the 880-acre South Platte Park. We also own and operate four full-service recreation centers – the Douglas H.
