Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. is the nation’s largest wine and spirits distributor and broker with operations in 35 markets. The multi-state distributor currently operates in: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia—as well as the additional seven states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Utah through the Southern-Odom/Spirits West partnership. In addition, Southern has a presence in Maryland and the District of Columbia through a joint venture with F.P. Winner Wine & Spirits as well as a joint venture operation in Minnesota with J.J. Taylor Distributing Company. Southern also holds operating licenses and permits in Nebraska and Texas. On a national basis, Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. employs more than 11,000 team members.

Southfield School for Girls opened in 1976, after the amalgamation of Kettering High School for Girls and Rockingham Road Senior Girls School. It is one of two girls schools in Northamptonshire. In 1988 the Local Authority declared its intention to close Southfield. Fortunately, however, this decision coincided, with a new government policy to allow schools to become independent while staying within the state system, known as Grant Maintained Status. This status was granted on 1 April 1990 and Southfield was one of the first GM schools in the country. In 1999, there was a quiet transition to become a foundation school which put us back in touch with the Local Authority. In 2004, the school achieved Sports College status, followed in 2009 with Science as the schools second specialism. In the same year we became accredited as a centre for Gifted and Talented students. After a successful fundraising campaign, Southfield opened a four-court sports hall and state of the art dance studio which have become thriving facilities in the greater Kettering community. After discussion and consultation the Governing Body decided to apply for Academy status which was achieved in August 2012. During 2013, we played a part in the celebration of Kettering High Schools 100 year history, whose ethos of educating girls in the Kettering area we continue today.

We are contactable 24 hours a day by telephone where one of our team members can deal with any issue or concern our customers may have. 90% of all the pallets we transport are delivered directly within 24 hours of loading and are not subbed out to a UK or mainland European distributor thus reducing the risk of late delivery or damage to the goods.
