SPAG es una de las principales compañías de fabricación, comercialización y distribución de sistemas contra las heladas y el granizo. En 1972 los hermanos Ollivier y la sociedad Corballan Francia, desarrollan un dispositivo moderno por ondas de choque para la lucha contra el granizo. En 1990 ven la necesidad de crear un sistema radar que identificará el momento que se genera el granizo dentro de la nube y pone automáticamente el equipo en funcionamiento. En 2008 se patenta un sistema de insonorización, reduciendo drásticamente el ruido producido por este. Los sistemas fabricados y distribuidos por SPAG utilizan gas acetileno puro, este gas se inyecta en una cámara de combustión controlada situada en la parte inferior del cono, que mezclados con el oxígeno de aire generan una explosión en forma de onda expansiva que viaja a través del dispositivo, propagándose hacia la estratosfera. Este sistema acelera de forma exponencial la descongelación del granizo, este tipo de acción no contamina al medio ambiente, ni influye en la trayectoria de la nube, al igual que tampoco desplaza el granizo a otras parcelas.
