At Spark Academy, we offer unique, vibrant and affordable tuition from Key Stage 2 all the way up to A-Level. Our overarching mission is to build students confidence and independence in tackling challenging topics and preparing them for exam success. We aim to expose our students to as much exam practice as possible so they can achieve their full potential in SATS, GCSEs, A-Levels and beyond. Our lessons combine teaching, independent work, and collaboration tasks which will best prepare them for life outside of school both at university, and in their future careers. Since our establishment, we have helped thousands of children in Leicester to achieve their full potential. With our special teaching programme that follows the national curriculum, our bespoke resources, specialist weekly feedback and full-time friendly teachers, we are able to provide the perfect environment for children to become successful learners who are ready to face the challenges of the real world. Spark has come a long way since it was established by former Science teacher and award-winner Mital Thanki in 2009. After starting out as a 1:1 tuition service while Mital taught in an upper school in Leicestershire, Spark now operates out of two dedicated centres in Leicester. In both the Oadby and Belgrave communities, Spark has rapidly grown and champions an award winning service offering structured, after school group tuition for Science, Maths and English from Key Stage 2 to A-level students. Our dynamic and vibrant classes are designed and tailored specifically for different types of learners, and we take great pride in trying to bring out the best in our pupils. Our hope is that students at Spark Academy will grow to contribute positively to our society, and serve as good role models for the upcoming generation.

At our heart is a superb performance space, attracting the biggest names in the world of sports & entertainment since 2007. With fixed, removable and retractable seating configurations we are able to host an audience of over 12,000 people for a diverse range of events, including: • Major international concerts, with artists as diverse as Beyonce, J.Cole, Metallica, and our own home-grown Lorde. • Family shows such as Walking With Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular, and regular visits by Cirque du Soleil. • Major sporting events; International Netball, Basketball, Wrestling, BMX, Ice Hockey and Ice Shows. • Large-scale community events and Expos. • Conferences, Balls, Banquets & Business Functions. Along with large-scale concerts and events, Spark Arena's strength lies in its ability be configured into intimate modes, scaling exactly to accommodate audiences from 1,800 to 12,000 in the main arena, and 100-300 in the Tuning Fork events space. With a convenient central location, Spark Arena is within walking distance from the Auckland City Centre and the major public transport hubs: Britomart railway station & bus terminal and the downtown ferry terminal. More than just a building for hire, Spark Arena's in-house management team has a long track record in international events management, and is proactive in helping each event fulfill its unique potential.

SPARK at Stanford is a translational research program with over 13 years of success translating academic biomedical discoveries from laboratory to patient care. Since its founding in 2006 at Stanford University, the program has graduated 117 programs, of which 43 were licensed to startup companies, 13 licensed to existing companies, and 17 in clinical trials, amounting to a success rate of 62%. Through a unique combination of mentorship and financial support, the program shepherds exciting academic discoveries through preclinical discovery hand in hand with over 200 volunteer industry advisers and seed funding to reach exciting outcomes. SPARK’s program provides access to specialized knowledge and technical expertise regarding drug and diagnostic development to bridge the gap from bench to bedside. SPARK GLOBAL is a network of academic institutions and organizations around the world that have adopted the translational research model pioneered by SPARK at Stanford. SPARK GLOBAL comprises over 60 institutions in 23 countries with hundreds of translational programs that transcend borders.
