Newcastle Cathedral is Grade One listed and dates back to the early 12th century soon after Newcastle Castle was built by Robert Curthose. These two impressive structures, high above the River Tyne, and together representing Church and State, formed the focal point for the growth and development of one of the country’s busiest medieval towns and inextricably link the heritage of state power, spirituality, and commerce. As a medieval church, with the Castle representing the state on its doorstep, and a thriving market town all around, it had a very significant part to play in the town and many chose to be remembered here. Its history and heritage are inextricably linked with the merchants and industrialists who dominated the country’s wool and coal trades, the latter fuelling the Industrial Revolution and, in the early post-medieval period, making Newcastle the third most important town in England after London and Bristol. Following substantial extensions in the 14th century, the Cathedral was in much the same form as it is now – and recognised as one of the most significant and largest parish churches in England. Aesthetically, it boasts one of the finest lantern towers in the country dominating the skyline since the 15th century. Internally, the Cathedral contains one of the largest collections of monuments and ledger stones of any Cathedral in England. It also boasts medieval heraldic bosses, a fine wooden font cover with elaborate Gothic tracery, a superb collection of 19th and 20th century stained glass, and other outstanding examples of local craftsmanship such as the wooden screens and choir stalls which were carved in medieval style by Ralph Hedley in the mid-19th century prior to the building becoming England’s most northerly Cathedral. St Nicholas Hospice Care is here to help people live their lives to the full and improve the quality of life for all who are affected by their illness. We care for those facing dying, death and grief across West Suffolk and Thetford. We see people with any illness that is life-threatening, such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and other advanced diseases such as heart or lung disease. We provide a comprehensive range of specialist palliative care services to local people and their families living with terminal illnesses. Since we began, we estimate we have supported over 50,000 families. We see around 2,000 people per year, either here at the Hospice or in a patient's own home via the Community Hospice Team. At any one time, we have 320 people on our caseload.

St Patrick's College Townsville is an independent Catholic secondary college for girls (Years 7-12). The college offers both day and boarding and is located on Townsville's Strand beach front.

St Patrick's College is a Catholic Integrated boys College situated on an attractive site near the Wellington harbour at Kilbirnie. The College carries the name of St Patrick, the great saint of Ireland. Much of Patrick's life is shrouded in mystery and legend. He was probably born around 385 AD, and as a young man was taken captive to Ireland as a slave. St Patrick's College was founded by Archbishop Francis Redwood SM in 1885. It was one of the first fruits of the Society of Mary (Marists) whose members played such a prominent part in the establishment of the Catholic faith in New Zealand. The College was first staffed by Irish Marists whose zeal, drive and enthusiasm caught the imagination of the Catholic population of New Zealand. In 1931 the boarding section of St Pat's was transferred to Silverstream, to allow room for the expanding numbers of students on the Cambridge Terrace site. This decision gave rise to St Pats Town and St Pat's Silverstream, the two St Patrick's Colleges linked by their common name, history, and the many competitive and co-operative events in which they participate together. In 1979 St Patrick's College shifted from its Cambridge Terrace site to new purpose-built facilities adjacent to Kilbirnie Green and Evans Bay.
