Established in June 1995, Stamford Scientific Inc, or SSI, is a privately held company headquartered in Poughkeepsie, New York, USA with operations in the US, the UK, the Netherlands, Korea, China and India. SSI prides itself on outstanding employee retention, which means that our staff has a depth of experience dealing with all facets of aeration systems, from design to implementation and research. We service our customers through a network of agents and distributors in over 70 countries. We distinguish ourselves in a number of ways, but first and foremost through R & D and Experience. SSI has filed for and been granted patents relating PTFE and Viton coated EPDM membranes, Fluorinated and Anti-Static membranes, and for the first Bayonet type saddle mount for disc diffusers allowing interchangeability of disc diffusers of various sizes on the same piping grid, and to the development of advanced computer software which automates the drafting, spec writing, pricing and calculation functions of diffused aeration system design. We provide process engineering support and a 2-D and 3-D capable drafting department, specification review, site services and even installation services upon request. SSI is fully insured and is an active member of the Water Environment Federation.

The Stamford Yacht Club was organized on Thursday, October 16, 1890. The incorporators were William A. Lottimer, James D. Smith, William W. Skiddy, Albert C. Hall, Walter M. Smith, W.L. Brooks, A.M. Hurlbutt, Schuyler Merritt, Archibald H. Smith, Henry K. McHarg, James I. Raymond, and Samuel Fessenden, all of Stamford. The Club’s earliest members were active people living in interesting times. The Merritt Parkway is, indeed, named after our second Vice Commodore whose Commodore, Henry K. McHarg, built a railroad town in Texas that is still called Stamford. Like hundreds of members who followed them, the founders preserved and enhanced the Club, both for their contemporaries and for generations to come. When we commemorate our fellow members of earlier generations, we not only express our gratitude, but we also gain a sense of our own responsibility as stewards between the Club’s last century and its next.
