Sarrell Dental & Eye is a non-profit organization treating the dental and optical needs of Alabama children ages 1-20. We provide general and specialized dentistry and eye care for children across Alabama. Accepting Medicaid, AllKids, and most major insurance plans, Sarrell aims to meet the dental and optical needs of the families in each of the communities we serve. Our mission at Sarrell Dental is to be the national model for delivering quality and compassionate dental and eye care to under served communities. Sarrell Dental started in Anniston in 2004, following a county-wide health assessment that examined issues of access to healthcare and the health status of the population. That assessment identified a significant lack of access to dental care for the countys low income population, particularly for children. Since then, one clinic has expanded to seventeen locations through out the state, four of which now also offer optical services. Sarrell clinics are located in Alexander City, Athens, Attalla, Bessemer, Boaz, Clanton, Dothan, Enterprise, Foley, Leesburg, Montgomery, Phenix City, Pinson, Selma, Talladega, and Tuscaloosa. Optical services are provided for our patients in Anniston, Bessemer, Boaz, and Clanton. As of September 2013 Sarrell Dental has affiliated with Massachusetts-based DentaQuest. The affiliation aims to provide better oral care to more Americans. DentaQuest works to improve oral health for low-income families, including those living in Alabama.
