The Science Center of Iowa is a center devoted to lifelong learning featuring six dynamic experience platforms and where visitors can explore and experiment. By placing the power of learning in the hands of the visitor, the programmatic emphasis is not on “what” to learn, but “how” to learn. In addition to the experience platforms, SCI showcases a 175-seat John Deere Adventure Theater featuring live performances, and a 50 foot domed Star Theater. The Iowa Learning Center houses the educational programs for SCI and features resources for educators and students, the renowned preschool, outreach and distance learning programs.

Science Central is an all-ages, hands-on science center. Located inside a former power plant, Science Central’s brightly colored smokestacks have been a staple of Fort Wayne, Indiana’s skyline for over 25 years. Together, our employees work to advance our vision of being the premier gateway for informal science education in the region.

Voor de buitenwereld is het soms een raadsel wat er bij een technische universiteit gebeurt. Wat zijn die ingewikkelde onderzoeksprojecten? Voor de leek lijken ze ondoorzichtig. Het Science Centre Delft geeft het publiek een kijkje in de keuken van de TU Delft en maakt inzichtelijk waar onderzoekers en studenten op de TU Delft zich dagelijks mee bezig houden. Wat ga je doen als je hier komt studeren? Welk onderzoek wordt er gedaan en wat merk je daarvan in de maatschappij? In het Science Centre Delft staat een afspiegeling van recente onderzoeks- en studentenprojecten. De opstellingen zijn zoveel mogelijk replica’s van de echte onderzoeksopstellingen, want het Science Centre wil de realiteit laten zien. Zo kun je werken in een werkplaats die TU-onderzoekers en technische bedrijven ook gebruiken. Je kunt de onderzoeksopstellingen en afstudeerprojecten bekijken, maar we dagen je ook uit om zelf aan de slag te gaan. Test hoe je de nieuwste technieken kunt inzetten of doe mee met een inloopworkshop waar je onder leiding van TU Delft studenten mee kunt denken over onderzoek. We wisselen de projecten en opstellingen regelmatig en dat maakt het leuk om nog eens terug te komen. Een bezoek aan het Science Centre moet een uitdaging zijn. We maken minimaal gebruik van informatiebordjes, maar stimuleren bezoekers om zelf te onderzoeken, kritische vragen te stellen en doorzettingsvermogen te tonen. Competenties die je nodig hebt om goed onderzoek te doen, zeker als je net even dat stapje verder wilt gaan en echt baanbrekend werk wilt verzetten. Zo voel je je als bezoeker een echte onderzoeker. Wees een dagje onderzoeker of technicus. Ben je geïnteresseerd in techniek, durf je kritische vragen te stellen en laat je je niet afschepen als het even tegenzit, maar zet je gewoon door? Kom dan een dagje naar het Science Centre Delft!

Science Crafts is a leading edutainment company in Egypt, offering a wide spectrum of Science & Robotics activities to kids & teens, with unique in-house-designed kits and educational scenarios. We believe in Hands-on experience and tasting Science, we believe in the interconnection between all science fields and their direct relevance to life around us, and so we deliver and practice science with our beloved kids and youth attending our activities.

Die Stiftung Science et Cité fördert den Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft in der Schweiz und ist spezialisiert auf niederschwellige und innovative Kommunikationsformen. Unsere Arbeit erfolgt in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Partnerorganisationen aus Bildung, Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Kultur und Politik und fokussiert auf aktuelle und gesellschaftlich bewegende Themen und damit zusammenhängende Wertefragen. Unsere Projekte sind sowohl lokal als auch national angesiedelt. Sie fördern den direkten Austausch zwischen Forschenden und Bürger:innen, regen den Online-Dialog über Wissenschaft und ihre gesellschaftlichen Bezüge an und vernetzen die Akteur:innen der Wissenschaftskommunikation. Zu unseren Projekten gehören Wissenschaftscafés, das Camp Discovery, Science and You(th), WuDu! - Wissenschaft und Du oder die Citizen Science Plattform “Schweiz Forscht”. Als zentrale Vernetzungsstelle im Bereich der Wissenschaftskommunikation in der Schweiz führen wir den Jahreskongress ScienceComm durch. Die Stiftung hat ihre nationale Geschäftsstelle in Bern. Aktivitäten finden in der Deutschschweiz, in der Suisse romande im Rahmen des Réseau Romand Science et Cité sowie im Tessin in Verbindung mit L'ideatorio der Università della Svizzera Italiana statt. Als Kompetenzzentrum für den Bereich Dialog ist Science et Cité mit den Akademien der Wissenschaften Schweiz verbunden. Science et Cité ist keine Vergabestiftung, sondern selbst operativ tätig.

Science for All Audiences (SCIFAA) is a non-profit organization that aims to the reduce the literacy gap between the public and scientists. Our objective is to use a plain language approach to share knowledge and reduce the barriers currently preventing Canadians from being able to make informed decisions.

Science for Wildlife is a not-for-profit wildlife conservation organisation based out of Sydney, Australia. We work to make sure that the best available science and technology is applied on the ground where it counts, to conserve wildlife. We were established to meet a well-recognised need – to bridge the gap between research and wildlife conservation. Far too often the best science gets published in a journal paper but it stops there and is never applied to real-life wildlife management problems. Critical knowledge is therefore not available for use where it is needed most. To bridge the implementation gap we work together with researchers and university staff and students, land managers, community groups and volunteers, making sure that experience and know-how are shared and wildlife conservation is as effective as it can possibly be.
