Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) is one of the largest Scouting organizations in the United States of America and one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with more than 2.4 million youth participants and nearly one million adult volunteers. Scouting America Greater New York Councils (GNYC) serves New York‘s five boroughs. GNYC has helped over five million young men and women become “Prepared for Life” since its'​ inception in the 1920’s. Throughout New York City there are more than 8,500 Scouts and Explorers, 4,200 active volunteer leaders and 418 Scouting community partners. Programs foster healthy lifestyles, community service, environmental stewardship, workforce preparedness, leadership development and STEM education.
