The Talbot County Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business for 800 members representing 8,000 employees. Our objective to protect, preserve and promote the free enterprise system of business and to advance the commercial, industrial, civic and general interests of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Talbot County and its trading area. We endeavor to create a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of business people and concern for their problems. The Chamber encourages business and community growth and planned development by promoting economic programs designed to strengthen and expand income potential of all business within our trading area. Talbot House Trust is situated in the North East of England and comprises a special educational needs school, a residential care home for children and a vocational skills centre. Talbot House Trust is a registered charity which provides a nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people with complex needs. Talbot House Trust provides a positive alternative for children and young adults who have had difficulties in mainstream provision. These young people are at a higher level of risk emotionally and/or physically. They can also be experiencing educational and social exclusion. Talbot House Trust aims to help young people with complex needs to bridge the transition into adult life and have opportunities to flourish in society, with confidence. Enhancing self-esteem and providing a nurturing approach are fundamental principles at Talbot House Trust and require sensitivity and non-rejection as a cornerstone.
