The Good Samaritan Society (GSS) is a leading faith-based, not-for-profit, registered charity in Western Canada that provides quality accommodations, health, and community care services and programs to aging individuals in need. Our Pastoral-Spiritual Care model incorporates Chaplains as Spiritual Care Facilitators and Providers. They invite members from the churches to become volunteers, and to be trained as Pastoral Care Visitors. As well, we formally train all staff in spirituality and spiritual care so that they can meet the needs of residents and clients when the Chaplain is not available. Presently, we have over 3,900 employees and more than 2,300 volunteers who, in the spirit of compassion, serve approximately 6,000 clients. As one of the largest not-for-profit care providers in Alberta (21 care homes) and British Columbia (7 care homes), we provide safe, comfortable communities inspiring involvement, where people can experience a sense of caring, belonging and purpose. We strive to be leaders in the industry and make GSS the home of choice in the communities we serve. To achieve this, we have mandated that 95 cents of every dollar spent goes towards direct front line care and services. This enables us to be an efficient and effective organization that can provide quality care and quality accommodations.

The Good Summit is an event for those who know things can be done differently. We aim to showcase that while everyone has a different view of what "doing good"​ actually means, we all want the same outcome, to try to leave a positive mark. Starting in Dublin on October 2017 with following sister events in America, Australia & South Africa, The Good Summit aims to celebrate good in the world & help create more of it. Focusing on the streams of Good Society, Good Health, Good Work and Good Leadership, the event provides a time for sharing & learning. From global corporate syndicates to local government, NGOs, charities, SMEs, NFPs, social entrepreneurs and social activists. The Good Summit celebrates the Art of Possible by inviting connections and nurturing networks that motivate us toward a better shared today. A time for sharing and learning, buying and trying. The Good Summit is a festival that inspires and fuels the small movements already taking place around the globe. It is a metaphorical raincloud to help cultivate the ground where change is already taking place. The Good Summit is a space for dialogue, that motivates those who feel disengaged and disenchanted with how the world works, offering a platform for solidarity, with new ideas, and empowerment. You will go home from The Good Summit raised up, challenged and inspired.

The Good Thing is that we create thoughtful and well-crafted projects all inspired by nature and people. We are architects, designers and WELL AP consultants who believe that spaces and places have a huge impact on everyone's physical and mental health. Through our research and approach in design, we aim to help reduce stress and improve cognitive behaviour. We spend 90% of our time indoors, and that percentage due to increase post-COVID19, making it all the more relevant now to tap into how design can help our health and well-being.
