THE UNION OF LEGACY WAS FOUNDED IN 2015 BY A GROUP OF FRIENDS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO SAW THE NEED TO HIGHLIGHT AND CELEBRATE GREATNESS IN COMMUNITIES BY PROMOTING UNITY, DIVERSITY, AND SERVICE. TODAY, IN ADDITION TO HONORING OUTSTANDING MEMBERS OF COMMUNITIES AROUND HOUSTON, WE ARE ALSO ONE OF THE FEW GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS THAT IS MENDING GAPS IN SERVICES PROVIDED TO MARGINALIZED MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY INCLUDING REFUGEES, SENIORS, AT-RISK YOUTH, SINGLE MOTHERS, AND STRUGGLING ADULTS. THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, WE SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO FACE FINANCIAL, EDUCATIONAL, HEALTH, LANGUAGE, SOCIAL, AND CULTURAL BARRIERS TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE AND BUILD STRONGER COMMUNITIES.
