Tinkertanker is a technology and education company by teachers who enjoy coding, and coders who enjoy teaching. We run Tinkercademy, where we teach coding and electronics to students of all ages in intro coding and data science (Python), electronics and IoT prototyping (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, micro:bit), mobile app development (iOS, Android), web development (HTML, CSS, JS, Node, flavour-of-the-year framework), "ethical hacking", game development (Unity, Scratch), and more. We also curate and sell educational technology toys at our Get Hacking online store. We also enjoy building our own tech apps and products, such as GuestDay, an iPad-based guest registration service, an IC Photo app for Singaporeans to take (mostly) useful selfies, a pretty ridiculous technology escape room for Maker Faire Singapore, and an Amazon-to-Singapore search service. TinkuLab es el primer Laboratorio Cívico del Ecuador. ¡Nuestro objetivo es la co-creación de políticas públicas y emprendimientos de impacto social, en ecosistemas de innovación abierta. Buscamos que los habitantes de una ciudad o comunidad, sean más cercanos a sus problemas y por tanto más cercanos a la necesidad de co-crear soluciones. Nuestra metodología de trabajo consta de una serie de herramientas, talleres y eventos, que le permitan al miembro de la comunidad participar activamente en la construcción de ciudades más justas e inclusivas. Esta iniciativa ha sido el resultado de la unión de la diversidad de pensamiento. En ella hemos trabajado de manera activa jóvenes artistas, abogados, programadores, diseñadores, deportistas, economistas, politólogos, entre otras disciplinas. Esta diversidad de visiones y conocimientos nos ha permitido enriquecer la función de Tinkulab y empoderarnos como habitantes de una ciudad. Tinkulab inició sus actividades el 30 de Noviembre del 2015 con un primer conversatorio sobre innovación abierta y ciudades inteligentes (no necesariamente tecnológicas). A partir de ese momento hemos cumplido una agenda con diversos tópicos de interés ciudadano, generando redes vecindad, con visión de emprendimiento e innovación social. Las comunidades trabajamos mediante la utilización de talleres rápidos de incubación y aceleración de ideas. Las sesiones de trabajo son de ideación “Thinktank” y de acción “Dotank” con el objetivo de impactar positivamente en las ciudades y su desarrollo. Buscamos impulsar un modelo de sociedad civil organizada en conjunto con la academia, el Estado, los sectores productivos, los migrantes y en general los habitantes de la ciudades. Así, los participantes de TinkuLab se deben reconocer como actores políticos sociales y participarán activamente apropiándose de la innovación abierta y colaborativa de sus comunidades.
