Tuk Tuk Indian Street Food was founded in 2012 by director, Rizvi Khaleque. Our Edinburgh flagship restaurant is known for its colourful interiors, serving small plates of delicious Indian street food. Tuk Tuk is inspired by the food hawkers of India, where we do with a mix of rustic roadside and railway station dishes. Millions of street food vendors make up the colour, sounds and smells of India. They nourish the appetites of busy office workers, sweaty rickshaw-wallahs and hungry school children throughout the day. Our menu pays homage to these roadside culinary geniuses. Our food is the simple earthy, lovingly prepared food of the people and represents the tastes of India today. Opening their second site in 2017 in Glasgow City Centre, Sauchiehall Street, Tuk Tuk is an award winning Indian restaurant which won best Scottish Street Food at the Food Awards at the Crowne Plaza, in August 2017. We also offer delivery and takeaway with Ubereats & Deliveroo, featuring the UK’s hottest curry the Hellfire Phaal. We pride ourselves on being the pioneer of Indian street food culture and delivering exceptional customer service. Using fresh ingredients and authentic spices we have a selection of delicious dishes for everyone. Our philosophy is all about experiencing and sharing good food.

Much of what we tend to think of as Thai food is actually a North American mash-up of Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai dishes that has only a passing resemblance to the traditional cuisine of the country. Sam Chanhao, who at an early age was introduced to the complex flavours and beautiful colours of authentic Thai food by his mother, thought Canadians deserved better and he opened his own restaurant in Calgary in 1989. Sam named his restaurant Thai Sa-on (meaning ‘craving delicate and beautiful food’) and began serving authentic Thai cuisine based on his mother’s traditional family recipes. More than 25 years later, Sam is still passionate about introducing Canadians to real Thai food. With the 2015 opening of Tuk Tuk Thai, the flagship of a new takeout concept, on 17th Ave SW in Calgary, Sam is taking his mission to the next level. The focus at Tuk Tuk Thai is ‘fast and flavourful’ featuring authentic Thai dishes handmade with natural ingredients on site, in a real kitchen. Chef Chalermphon Limsrijamrern, Phon, moved over from his duties as Head Chef at Thai Sa-on to lead Tuk Tuk Thai. Working together, Sam, Phon and their team designed a menu for fast takeout and delivery based on the most popular dishes from Thai Sa-on.

Our production facility is located in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Rauma, Western Finland. The modern production and skillful personnel of Tukimet Oy guarantee high quality of products, competitive prices and reliable delivery times. We obtain high-quality raw materials mainly from Finland. All cooperation partners are high-quality domestic companies with a long experience in their field. We are renowned for our precise manufacturing and design that has the end-user firmly in mind. Tukimet develops and manufactures innovative aids for the disabled, elderly and people with special needs. Tukimet Oys customers include private consumers, municipal healthcare and activity departments, district hospitals, aid units and retailers. Our facility in Rauma focuses on production and sales of the Tyke® range of products. Tukimet Oys turnover in 2016 was approximately 1.7 million euro. We employ a total of 14 persons. Tykes® current main product range is made up of walking aids (rollators), bed assist rails, side rails, support rails and handles, as well as shower stools and skating aids.
