Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is one of New Zealand's largest tertiary education providers. We offer a comprehensive range of certificate to degree level qualifications to New Zealanders of all ages and walks of life. We are a national organisation representing the interests of school boards. Our role is to support all board members along their journeys by providing professional development, employment and governance advice. We represent our members'​ interests in all relevant education-related decisions and national policy formulation. Our membership is open to state and state integrated school boards.

Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi plays a distinctive and crucial role in tertiary education, providing an opportunity to learn based on the values of āhuatanga Māori according to tikanga Māori. Strong relationships with our communities of interest – in Aotearoa and internationally – drive the relevance of our academic programmes, teaching and research.
