philanthropy
Tear brings people together in the fight against poverty and injustice. We aim to help the people in the world who are in the greatest need. We operate through local churches wherever we can, training and equipping them to end poverty and rebuild their communities. We help local churches (in the Netherlands and in the southern hemisphere) to work together in fighting poverty and injustice in sustainable ways, and we help them learn from each other while working together. We are committed to being accountable to project participants, communities, partners, supporters and donors for the work we undertake and for the resources entrusted to us. We are signatories to the Red Cross Code of Conduct and are certified against several quality management systems. We support projects run by partner organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America, and offer people in the Netherlands opportunities to become involved in this work. These partner organisations of Tear work with a Christian conviction under the poorest of the poor regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnic origin or political persuasion. We also challenge Dutch Christians and churches to think about their lifestyle and the way this affects the well-being of vulnerable communities around the world.
international trade and development
We are a Christian relief and development agency building a global network of local churches to eradicate poverty. At Tearfund Ireland we are prioritising the most vulnerable and marginalised people, working through churches and Christian organisations to bring help and hope to people living in dire poverty – people who aren’t being helped by other agencies. That’s why we have chosen to work with forgotten children, vulnerable women, people affected by HIV, and to provide emergency relief to people who have often lost everything in times of disaster. Tearfund Ireland is a Registered Charity: CRA 20021337 - Revenue Authorisation No. CHY 8600. Company limited by guarantee registered in Ireland No. 323619
