TAB: The CEO peer board and coaching organization for small business owners By invitation only, TAB brings together owners and principals of non-competing, privately held businesses to solve challenges and seize new opportunities. Its 3,300 plus international members, over 330 Texas members, and over 100 Fort Worth/Dallas members share best practices that helps - and holds accountable - each individual business owner to move his or her aspirations, goals and agendas forward. TAB members meet monthly in a facilitated board session to learn from one another’s successes and lessons learned. Each board has up to 10 sitting members with over 200 years of combined business experience. Confidential, frank discussions at TAB meetings opens eyes to new alternatives and opportunities brought from different vantage points; and helps members determine what they need to change, and how to confidently make the needed change. Between board meetings, each owner-member meets for a private coaching session with a TAB-certified, senior-level, business owner-consultant to prepare for the next board meeting and to help advance his or her strategic goals and tactical action plans and agendas. The Alternative Board® (TAB) started in 1990 is now in 25 countries and has a proven record of improving its members’ business success and profitability. It uses the 3000 year old proverb that "many heads are better than one."​ TAB combines business coaching, business improvement tools, and monthly confidential peer board meetings to help business owners achieve their personal goals. TAB board members comprise Business Owners / CEOs who run businesses in diverse non-competing fields. We operate different boards for small, medium and large sized companies. We facilitate, guide and enrich the process. Members discuss their current issues, challenges and opportunities, as well as their long-term plans and strategies and hold each other accountable for success. 70-80% of business issues are common across all industries. Members receive real world advice from someone else who has already been there. The diversity also provides innovation and transfer of best practice from one industry to another. Fellow board members do not have an emotional attachment to your company.
