Sigma Eta Pi, founded in 2010, is the first entrepreneurship fraternity in the United States. Our mission is to transform individuals into starters who follow their passion, develop long lasting relationships, and create value through innovative pursuits. We are dedicated to building and harnessing human potential. As students of the University of California, Berkeley, we are right at the epicenter of innovation, and our members have become founders of renowned companies like Caviar and Blueprint. We are positively impacting people around the world, continuously innovating and improving. When our members first join the organization, they launch a venture their first semester; they work together in teams to ideate, build, and sustain a startup from scratch. This past year, our members founded a company called Spotlight that works with local businesses to improve their online presence, from making website to improving their Instagram content. Additionally, our members founded a nonprofit called Peoples Park Podcast, which shared stories of homelessness in Berkeley to help shed the stigma against the homeless. These are just a sampling of the varied and interesting companies started by SEP’ers. We aim to create an entrepreneurial environment at our school, hosting innovation competitions, bringing in founders for tech-talks, and starting an entrepreneurship mentorship program for high schools in our area. We are driven by passion and grounded in innovation.
