The University of Pittsburgh School of Law has educated generations of lawyers since our first 35 graduates in 1895. Since then, Pitt Law has continued to grow and enhance the legal education provided, each year graduating over 200 legal scholars equipped to enter and impact a worldwide legal community. While we have a venerable history, Pitt Law is on the move with a curriculum that offers strong fundamentals, as well as the programs and opportunities that are critical to lawyers today. You will be challenged by classroom debates and discussions, participate in real-world cases and have the opportunity to hone your skills in externships and moot court competitions.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine has a mission to train and develop physician leaders and scientists who are agents of change. The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, the regional leader in educating for success in the Real World, was founded in 1927. It is the first and largest regional campus of the University of Pittsburgh. Pitt-Johnstown offers more than 70 undergraduate programs; has more than 22,000 alumni; achieves the consistent satisfaction of area employers; and gains the commendations of many external organizations, including The Princeton Review (a “Best in the Northeast” college), GI Jobs (a “Military Friendly School”), and the Corporation for National and Community Service (“President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll”). The campus is a vital knowledge center and foremost contributor to the region’s educational, social, cultural, and economic development. The Pitt-Johnstown experience is purposefully designed to prepare students for the Real World of the 21st century. The campus is located on 655 picturesque acres in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, 70 miles east of Pittsburgh.

The University of Portland was founded in September 1901 by Portland Archbishop Alexander Christie, who had purchased property atop Waud’s Bluff with financial assistance from the Congregation of Holy Cross in South Bend, Indiana. Archbishop Christie named the school “Columbia University” after the mighty river that flowed nearby, and when it opened its doors, it was staffed with priests from the archdiocese. Columbia University achieved junior college status in 1922, and in 1925 the College of Arts and Sciences was founded. Four years later the first bachelor’s degrees were awarded to a class of seven men. In the 1930s, the University’s name was changed to the University of Portland, the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing became part of the University as the College of Nursing, and the School of Business were created. In 1948, the School of Engineering was created. The University established its Graduate School in 1950 and the School of Education in 1962. In 1967 the Congregation of Holy Cross and the University’s Board of Regents transitioned to a shared governance structure. Today, the University continues to be guided by the Congregation of Holy Cross and governed by an independent board of directors. The University of Portland is the only school in Oregon to offer a College of Arts & Sciences, a graduate school, and nationally accredited programs in the schools of business, education, engineering, and nursing. In 2013, University of Portland was named one of America's "Green Colleges"​ for the fourth consecutive year by The Princeton Review. In 2013, U.S. News and World Report named the University of Portland one of the top ten Western regional universities. The University has been named a top ten regional university for 19 years running. Course Reps represent the academic interests of fellow students on their course and year group. They are an official first point of contact between students, University staff and the Students' Union. Course Reps seek students’ opinions on aspects of their course such as: learning resources, facilities, teaching, assessments and feedback, and they strive to use these opinions to improve the University experience. In doing so, they also attend relevant meetings in the University and in the Union throughout the year where they represent their peers. They are provided with training from the Union which enables them to deal with various issues or point students in the right direction to receive support and guidance. They work together with other Course Reps and their Faculty Reps to ensure the students’ voice is heard and listened to. Course Reps are valued and supported by both the University and the Union. Being a Course Rep provides a unique opportunity to meet students from across the University, plus a chance to develop a wide range of skills whilst building confidence and gaining valuable experience that will look great on the CV.
