The University of Stavanger, on the South West Coast of Norway, has 12,000 students and 1,600 faculty, administration and service staff. The University of Stavanger (UiS) is situated in the most attractive region in the country, with some 300 000 inhabitants. Several other research centres are organised as consortiums of The University of Stavanger, NORCE and other actors. Validé is our tool for commercialisation of research ideas. The Stavanger Innovation Park (Ipark) is also located on campus, running incubator activities and helping new enterprises start up. UiS is a proud member of The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU). A network of innovative universities in Europe. Two organisations, SiS and StOr (the student union), take care of the students’ welfare and rights.

Inspired by the Jesuit philosophy of education (formation of the whole person in service to community), the University of Sudbury also has a special commitment to community engagement and service to others. The University offers programs and courses in Philosophy, Indigenous Studies, Religious Studies, Folklore, and Études journalistiques.
