Connecting people in their neighbourhood helps residents feel safe. A lot of initiatives like Neighbourhoodwatch lack a fitting real time communication tool. We are developing an instant messaging app to solve this.

Grote kans dat je niet meteen weet wat voor organisatie wij zijn. Veel van ons werk vindt achter de schermen plaats, maar we zijn ook heel zichtbaar aanwezig in jouw buurt, met 36 brandweerposten verdeeld over heel Drenthe. Dag en nacht kun je op ons rekenen. Bij brand, een ongeluk of een grootschalig incident: wij komen er letterlijk ons bed voor uit. Met passie voor het vak en hart voor alle inwoners. Naast deze lokale brandweerzorg, bestaan er binnen Veiligheidsregio Drenthe vele andere functies én doorgroeimogelijkheden. Bijvoorbeeld op het gebied van: - het voorkomen van incidenten, schade en slachtoffers – samen met inwoners, ondernemers en netwerkpartners; - het opleiden, oefenen en trainen van hulpverleners en netwerkpartners; - technische ondersteuning en doorontwikkeling van voertuigen en materialen; - informatievoorziening van hulpverleners tijdens een incident; - voorbereiding op crises of rampen, met andere hulpverleningsorganisaties (bijv. politie, ambulance), nutsbedrijven en overige netwerkpartners, om tijdens grote en complexe incidenten goed samen te kunnen werken; - diverse ondersteunende functies zoals: P&O, Communicatie, Financiën, Secretariaat enz.. Onze wereld is complex en verandert snel, door maatschappelijke en technologische ontwikkelingen. Dit betekent een uitdagende, inspirerende en innoverende werkomgeving! In de Veiligheidsregio Gelderland-Zuid (www.vrgz.nl) werken de hulpdiensten van de brandweer en ambulancezorg en de 16 gemeenten samen om grootschalige incidenten, rampen en crises te voorkomen, te bestrijden en te beperken. De Veiligheidsregio Gelderland-Zuid telt 550 medewerkers met daarnaast ca. 800 vrijwilligers van de brandweer en bestaat uit vijf sectoren: de regionale ambulancevoorziening, de brandweer, de gemeenschappelijke meldkamer, de geneeskundige hulpverleningsorganisatie (GHOR), het Veiligheidsbureau en een aantal ondersteunende en stafafdelingen, waaronder de communicatieafdeling. De sectoren werken nauw samen met een groot aantal partners in veiligheid. Dit maakt de VRGZ tot een hecht samenwerkingsverband en een stevige veiligheidsorganisatie voor de ruim 541.000 inwoners van Gelderland-Zuid.

The Safety Authority in the Rotterdam area (Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam-Rijnmond) is a government organisation acting on behalf of municipalities in the fields of disaster management, crisis control, risk management, fire fighting, ambulance services and emergency medical assistance. The Safety Authority's board of directors consists of the region’s 16 municipal mayors and is chaired by the Mayor of Rotterdam, Mr Ahmed Aboutaleb. There are a total of 25 Safety Authorities in the Netherlands. Application & Necessity Today’s security risks require decisive and consistent action from governments. The emergency services and municipalities work closely together in a safety region, offering professional assistance and protection from risks and threats. In this, there are cohesive collaborations between the police departments, regional water authorities, the Port of Rotterdam Authority, environmental services and the Public Prosecution Service. This official collaboration results in short lines of communication, direct coordination and clear responsibilities, thus providing streamlined emergency assistance to civilians. In other words: the Safety Authority in the Rotterdam area is the beating heart of disaster control and crisis management in the region. Profile The greater Rotterdam area (Rijnmond) has 1.2 million inhabitants and covers an area of 862 km2. In terms of population, it is the largest region covered by a Safety Authority in the Netherlands. The region includes the Port of Rotterdam, one of the largest harbours in the world, Rotterdam - The Hague Airport and various companies in the (petro) chemical industry. As such, various hazardous substances are transported via the complex infrastructure of motorways, tunnels, railways and pipelines.
