The Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center is the premier volunteer connector in Anne Arundel County and the City of Annapolis. Annually, the Volunteer Center helps more than 4,000 individuals, families, corporate and community groups find volunteer opportunities at 360+ community organizations. Volunteers of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds are mobilized to feed the homeless, serve seniors, protect the environment, mentor youth and change our community for the better. These volunteers create more than $2 Million of value added to our community in volunteer time per year. For every 1 hour we’re open we generate 50 hours of service and for every $1 donated, we give back $20.00 in volunteer time to the community. Mission The Volunteer Center inspires and coordinates volunteers, engages and supports nonprofits, and builds coalitions with businesses, to strengthen Anne Arundel County and improve lives in the community. Volunteer Energy Cooperative (VEC) distributes power to all or part of 17 counties across southeast Tennessee. Founded in 1935, VEC currently serves more than 115,490 meters. LOCATIONS: With its corporate office in Decatur, Tennessee, VEC serves its members through nine customer service centers in Benton, Cleveland, Georgetown, Decatur, Spring City, Crossville, Monterey, Jamestown, and Byrdstown. The nine offices are administered through the Cleveland, Decatur, Crossville, and Jamestown service areas.

The Volunteer Groups Alliance (VGA)* is a global coalition of more than 80 organizations and networks working in over 150 countries that contribute to sustainable development through volunteering in all its forms. VGA supports its member organizations to promote the contribution that volunteers make to sustainable development and to gain recognition for the important role volunteers play at local, regional, and national levels and in the United Nations (UN) processes.
