Il Comitato Nazionale Italiano del WEC o WEC Italia è una associazione multi-energy senza fini di lucro con sede a Roma, costituita sotto il Patrocinio del Ministero degli Affari Esteri e del Ministero dell'Industria, Commercio e Artigianato nel 1988. L’Associazione è membro aderente e fondatore del World Energy Council (WEC) la più importante organizzazione internazionale multi-energy oggi al mondo. Il network associativo del WEC Italia raccoglie soggetti industriali, istituzionali e universitari e rappresenta i diversi livelli del settore energetico nazionale: dalla ricerca alla produzione, dalla trasformazione alla distribuzione e commercializzazione di tutte le fonti energetiche, dalle fossili sino al nucleare e alle rinnovabili. Il WEC Italia promuove la mission "To promote the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all people"​ e gli obiettivi istituzionali del World Energy Council, partecipa al suo Programma di Studi Internazionali e ne diffonde i risultati in ambito italiano. Partecipa in maniera attiva allo sviluppo del dibattito energetico nazionale e agisce per fornire una informazione qualificata e aggiornata a tutti i livelli e non solo tra gli addetti del settore.
