Formerly Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, we are now the West Highland Chamber of Commerce, reflecting our expanded support for businesses across Lochaber, Wester Ross, Skye and Lochalsh, and Oban. As a unified voice for the diverse and vibrant West Highlands, we offer our members business support, political advocacy, networking opportunities, and practical services tailored to the unique challenges of rural and remote locations. Together, we’re building stronger communities and thriving businesses throughout the region. Our member businesses range from sole-traders to large-scale manufacturing firms and whatever their size, we work to help them achieve their business goals. Our aim is to promote the West Highlands as a great place to live, work, study and visit. Throughout the year, we run a varied calendar of events including training, informative seminars and networking opportunities for our members. In addition to promoting and protecting the collective business interests of all our members, we also promote Lochaber as a destination through the 'Outdoor Capital of the UK'​ brand.

Unique in that there is no single central campus, we have 10 networked college centres around the West Highlands of Scotland. Connecting our rural communities from Ullapool in the north, the Isle of Skye in the West and Kinlochleven further south offers learners opportunity and variety in learning styles and subjects across Lochaber, Skye, Wester Ross and beyond. As part of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), we provide an ever-growing curriculum with specialist subjects founded on the characteristics of our local environment and culture. Our exceptional School of Adventure Studies delivers courses and degrees at the cutting edge of the tourism, adventure and marine sectors, with sustainability, employability and expertise at the forefront of our programmes.

The West Houston Association has a 41 year history of bringing new ideas to Greater West Houston in infrastructure, public policies and planning. We are a 501c4 nonprofit organization that aims to create a better living and working environment for the 1.6 million residents and 600,000 employees in Greater West Houston. We are property owners, major employers, and related community interests combined to advocate for improved mobility, better infrastructure, and a sustainable quality of living environment for the region. ► Our History◄ In 1979, the Association was established to collectively address the problems and potentials associated with a rapidly growing area with major employment and residential growth virtually assured for the next ten years. It was a unique attempt by Houston’s major land developers, financial interests, and large corporations to bring order and rational planning to the rapidly developing suburban areas on the west side of the City of Houston. The original coverage area was bounded by Kirkwood Road on the east, Westheimer on the south, the town of Katy on the west, and FM 529 on the north. Over the years, our service area has expanded to include over 100,000 acres of the fastest growing and most environmentally sensitive part of the metropolitan Houston. ► Our Vision◄ We strive to bring new ideas to Greater West Houston to continuously improve quality of life.
