Founded in 1922, West Virginia Junior College is located on Willey Street in Morgantown, WV. We are a small college in a large university community!! At WVJC, we prepare our students as "job ready"​ through hands on training and small classroom sizes to meet each individual student’s needs. At WVJC, our job specific curriculums allow our students to obtain an Associate degree in only 18 months consisting of a convenient 4 day school week ending everyday no later than 2:00 pm!! At West Virginia Junior College we maintain the philosophy that our students always come first!! Also we have implemented an “open door“ policy, which allows our students the accessibility to all our faculty and administrative staff!!

WVNET was created in 1975 to provide central computing facilities and wide-area network communications linking its "central site"​ computing resources in Morgantown with the campus computing systems at most of the colleges and universities throughout the state. We have since grown to provide services for K-12 schools, government and non-profit agencies. We have a large collection of services to offer, often at prices below those of private industry.

West Virginia Northern Community College, a public, comprehensive community college with campus locations in Wheeling, Weirton, and New Martinsville, was created on May 9, 1972, and has grown into one of the largest institution of higher education in the Upper Ohio Valley.
