Western Sydney Community Forum (WSCF) is the established regional social development council for the greater Western Sydney region. WSCFs strategic business framework centres around its aspiration for thriving and inclusive communities. Our projects, partnerships and initiatives are built on the priorities of our regions communities, developed with the people who live in them. We work to articulate, focus and direct these priorities, in projects such as the Annual ZEST Awards, the Communities of Change Report, the Build Beyond Bricks project and the @home program. Western Sydney International Airport will transform the region with a new era of jobs and opportunities. Set to open with international, domestic and air freight services in 2026, Western Sydney International will provide much-needed aviation capacity to meet growing demand in Sydney. At Western Sydney Migrant Resource Centre (MRC), we specialise in helping newly arrived migrants, refugees and diverse communities to settle in Australia. One of our primary services is to support you with trained and experienced caseworkers, assisting with practical advice and information including referrals, children’s playgroups, youth programs, homework support, education and employment assistance. We also provide opportunities and activities to help you settle into the community, make new friends and build relationships. We provide a safe and trusting environment, that is accessible via appointment or casual drop in during open hours. For those at risk or need help, Western Sydney MRC are here to listen and help individuals and families feel safe, helping them overcome the challenges and difficulties they face when they arrive in the community.

Established in 1973, the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) represents local councils in the Greater Western Sydney region. With a reputation for considered policy analysis and bipartisan advocacy, WSROC brings a collective voice to those issues which are crucial for Western Sydney's growing population. WSROC's ongoing commitment to the region is demonstrated by its joint procurement programs, co-funded project work and shared community activities.

As Snyder’s own community college, Western Texas College (WTC) provides opportunities for education not only in Snyder and the surrounding communities, but in Texas, the United States, and nations across the globe. Established in 1969 with strong support and by sheer force of will from the community, multiple generations of students from Scurry County and beyond have received a quality education. Students at Western Texas College enjoy a small-town, friendly atmosphere with a caring and approachable faculty and staff. Western Texas College is committed to excellence as it challenges students to reach their full potential. WTC’s mission resonates through all departments and activities on the campus. Strong working relationships and a deeply committed faculty and staff provide key elements to student success at WTC. From its beginning, students have been the focus for the faculty and staff of WTC. The College concentrates on programs that reflect the needs of the youth and employers in the community and surrounding area. With over thirty majors and additional electives of study, students can earn an Associates of Arts, an Associate of Arts in Teaching, an Associates of Science, or an Associates of Applied Science degree. WTC also offers many certificate programs to quickly train students to enter the work world within one or two years. WTC boasts a soccer field, baseball and softball fields, and a 3890 seat Coliseum for basketball and other events. A beautiful 9-hole golf course sits on the north side of the campus, and the college maintains a farm close by for agricultural studies and rodeo practice. Next to the Soccer field sits Cavender Energy Lab, an outdoor laboratory for energy technology training, study, and experimentation. Unlike many community colleges in Texas, WTC has two dormitories for campus housing built within the last ten years. The Scurry County Museum also resides at the front of the campus.
