Women's Crisis Center (WCC) is a non-profit organization that began in 1976 as the Rape Crisis Center of Northern Kentucky. Today, WCC provides services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and rape, along with bystander intervention education within our 13-county service area. WCC continues to be a leader in innovative programs that are modeled and recognized on both statewide and national levels.

Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region (WCSWR) empowers and supports women* and children to move beyond violence by providing safe shelter, education, transitional housing and outreach services. WCSWR operates two emergency shelters for women and children experiencing domestic violence: Anselma House in Kitchener and Haven House in Cambridge. In addition to providing safe shelter, WCSWR offers a free, confidential, outreach program for women who are experiencing domestic violence but do not require emergency shelter. The program is flexible, accessible and has no wait list. Shelter and outreach services can both be accessed by calling WCSWR’s 24/7 crisis support lines via phone or online chat. *WCSWR supports women, transgender and gender-diverse individuals.

Our mission is to combat global gender inequality by creating a network of international grassroots organizations working for women’s rights in their communities. We research and vet our partner organizations and then support them in tangible ways, through relationships with those who understand the nuanced process of women’s empowerment in their specific communities. We are not only working towards gender equality in one community; we are simultaneously working towards gender equality on a global scale. We want to change the everyday lives of women by fostering institutional change from the grassroots level. This begins with communities coming together and identifying their needs in an organic nature. Our model allows us to impact more people by spreading resources around to organizations already impacting their communities. We supplement our partners’ ongoing programs with supplies, project planning and management, and fundraising assistance to help them more successfully achieve their mission. These organizations are comprised of people dedicated to improving their communities by empowering women and have a demonstrated impact. Womens Enterprise Centre is a non-profit organization devoted to helping BC women launch, lead and scale their own businesses. Our full range of services includes business loans up to $150K, with access to an additional $100K through a new partnership with BDC. WEC has fueled the success of women-led businesses since 1995, providing business advice, skills training, mentoring, practical resources and a supportive community to help women business owners gain the skills, mindset, financing and networks they need to realize their business potential.
